Most, if not all of you, will be familiar with Tiger 131 probably the most famous exhibit at the Tank Museum in Bovington. As the world’s only working example of a Tiger 1, the Tank Museum wants to ensure that this important vehicle remains a moving exhibit, but now the Tiger needs urgent re-restoration work to make this possible and the museum has launched an appeal to raise the funds.

To help the appeal Armortek are donating a Tiger 1 kit from its 2010 production which the Museum are offering as a prize in a draw. For every £10 you donate you will be entered into the draw, so the more you donate the more entries you will get!

Follow this link for more details, and good luck!

The A34 Comet is a fully machined kit of components. This model which is based on a MK1A, has been designed exclusively by Armortek on the latest 3D SolidWorks software. The model is constructed primarily from steel and aluminium, complemented with other cast alloys and materials.
Incorporating many of the improvements from previous models the A34 Comet MK1A is the first model of a British tank released by Armortek.

Manufactured by Armortek in their dedicated factory unit in the South West of England, this 1/6th scale high quality engineered model is available as a fully machined kit of components. Each A34 Comet MK1A kit will be machine engraved with the serial number and the Armortek name onto the inside face of the hull side plate, guaranteeing the authenticity of your model.

The model features scale armour thickness and with fully working Christie suspension. allowing individual adjustment of the load and ride height on each axle.

The model has double hull side plates enclosing the suspension system and incorporating the idler sprocket and drive motor mounting brackets that gives a rigid ultra strong box construction. This results in an accurate chassis with excellent track alignment and gives smooth trouble free performance.

The Model

The model has been thoroughly researched by reference to technical data, books and our own photographs of surviving vehicles in the UK with particular reference to the example on display at the Tank Museum in Bovington.

The model is an accurate 1/6th scale replica of the A34 Comet MK1A and is 1080mm (42.5”) long excluding the gun, 514 mm (20”) wide x 18” high. Weight is approximately 85kgs (187lbs).

The A34 Comet MK1A is powered by two 24v, 450w electric motors that deliver 4.2Nm of torque. This provides a top speed of circa 8mph and enables the model to climb 60 per cent gradients, just like the real tank.

Features of the A34 Comet MK1A include:
